A Brief History of Orrstown Bank
|

Orrstown Bank, founded in 1919, began by serving Orrstown Pennsylvania and the surrounding fertile farming communities. The small bank thrived by making sound business decisions and by using a philosophy that included getting to know your customers, greeting them by name, and never being too busy for a customer. In the next quarter of a century, Orrstown Bank showed steady growth, in spite of the Great Depression. Two new large safes and additional safe deposit boxes were purchased to meet customer needs.
Orrstown Bank opened its first branch in Shippensburg in 1981 with a second location in Shippensburg following a few years later. Further branch expansion occurred in new markets on the following dates: 1994, first branch in Carlisle, 1997, first branch in Chambersburg, and 2000, first branch in Mechanicsburg. Orrstown Bank acquired The First National Bank of Newport, Perry County in 2006. Today, Orrstown Bank operates 21 branches in Cumberland, Franklin, and Perry Counties in Pennsylvania and Washington County, Maryland.
The Board of Directors of Orrstown Financial Services, Inc.
